the man was kidnapped. the state department in the u.s. said the man was on his own freewill. >>> we turn to the cleanup after last night's strong storms dumped heavy rain and left behind a lot of high water and downed trees throughout our region. pamela brown is in takoma park to look at some of the damage. >> this was a fast-moving storm that brought a lot of rain. there's a downed tree behind me. this suv was crushed on willow avenue in takoma park. no one was inside when the branches toppled over. this will cause issues for people in this neighborhood this morning. crews are expected to be out year later today. we have seen a downed tree on canal ro anad in northwest. something else you will want to watch out for this morning is standing water. we have seen it all over the area following last night's storm. it only rained 20 minutes, but it fell at a rate of four-5 inches an hour. we have seen more than two inches in parts of our area. a flash flood watch has been lifted. we are expecting good weather the next couple days. that's another bit of good news for you. alison and doug. >> t
